Scott Tom is an entrepreneur, private investor, and strategic advisor with more than 25 years of experience building, operating, and investing in businesses across multiple industries and international markets.
Raised in the small rural community of Frenchtown, Montana, Scott developed an entrepreneurial mindset early in life and launched his first company at the age of 21. He earned a dual degree in Finance and Business Management from the University of Montana, where he built the business foundation and professional relationships that helped shape his career.
Throughout his professional career, Scott has been involved in a wide range of ventures spanning technology, finance, real estate, and international business. Today, he focuses primarily on private investments, asset management, real estate, aviation-related ventures, fintech opportunities, and cross-border business development. He works through privately held interests, strategic partnerships, and advisory relationships, providing guidance to entrepreneurs, investors, and private companies pursuing growth and expansion.
Scott's investment activities are centered on identifying long-term opportunities, building strong business relationships, and participating in projects across a variety of sectors and markets. His areas of interest include private investments, international real estate projects, family-office-style asset management, payment processing and fintech-related businesses, and opportunities throughout Latin America and other international markets.
Based in San José, Costa Rica, Scott Tom has spent many years living and working internationally. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and maintains personal and professional connections throughout Costa Rica and the broader region. His longstanding ties to Latin America extend across real estate development, hospitality projects, aviation, and international business ventures.
A longtime aviation enthusiast and helicopter pilot, Scott has a particular interest in aviation operations, aircraft management, and the role aviation plays in supporting business and travel in remote and developing regions. He also enjoys travel, fitness, outdoor living, and padel, and spends much of his free time exploring Costa Rica's natural landscapes and coastal communities.
In addition to his business interests, Scott supports a variety of charitable and community-focused causes. His philanthropic interests include initiatives benefiting children and families, animal welfare organizations, education, wellness programs, and local community efforts, particularly in Latin America.
